The use of photos, obligatory to engage the reader natch, actually form a chronlogical timeline, accurately anchoring you in the pathos of the story that’s being told.

The fact that this is really just a summary of a section of a biography just adds sauce to the dish. The narrative is topped and tailed by the biographer’s reaction but the core of the text is essentially just skillful abbreviation.

The linked articles similarly linked onwards in skillful ways so it was disappointing that recent articles are not so well linked and the promotiion of the blog’s book was heavy-handed.
